Hack This Fall 2024

 

Arriving Early At Karnavati University

I went to HTF2024 after completing our lab and afterward, we had a bus from the college to the venue, the Karnavati MBA campus, which was huge compared to ours. The campus had everything from class and a hall to hostels nearby. The place was filled with various programmers some of them were working professionals while others were students like me. The concept of 36 hours hackathon is very nice as one can see his/her limits of coding to their best abilities. The environment was very nice and competitive as various people were trying their best to code to their best abilities. My team included members Shubham, Shrijan, and Anshul.

The First Night At HTF

So on the first night, we planned our project of developing a virtual board with the help of Computer Vision and using this technology for live stream. This idea was part of a bigger plan for making a better Google Classroom filled with virtual board features and smooth streaming. This plan was very far-fetched but we believed it would work out and tried our best.

The Second Morning At HTF

The morning started with an amazing breakfast and 3 hours of sleep and we went back to hacking so we tried our best to develop the virtual board with the help of Open CV and we finally completed it at night but it was incomplete. The day was filled with various workshops and fun events by GitHub, Vonyage, and MLH. The workshops contained various events like Introduction To GitHub Copilot, Logitech Workshop, and various events of MLH, Vonage, and Orkes. 

The Final Morning At HTF

The morning started with the final submission of our project. The project was incomplete as we were not able to deploy our model on the server which resulted in a failed project as we have never worked with the deployment of the models. We lost and were not selected in the top 10 teams, hence I plan to go again with all the skills required and make a complete project in the future.

Achievements Of My Friends

The team Maidenless won the award for the Best Use of Tiny MCE. The team is filled with my roommates and I am really happy for their achievement. They designed a website and incorporated the use of Blender in it which helped in winning this award. The people here are Arjun, Sudhanshu, Hemil, and the luckiest person Soham.
